Those individuals looking for healthy, home-cooked dinners in the Bangor area now have a new option. The Maine Traveling Chef, a personal chef and catering service, offers “Healthy Dinners to Go.” Fresh, home-cooked meals come pre-portioned with calories, nutritional information, and Weight Watchers points calculated. Chicken picatta, roasted vegetable lasagna, and beef-and-broccoli stir fry are just a few of the dishes available.

Chef JoAnn Brown started this aspect of her business after joining Weight Watchers. “All of my meals to go are home cooked from scratch, like chicken parmesan, meatloaf, lasagna, and chicken pot pie, to name a few options,” said Brown.

Clients can order any of the dinner menus added weekly at www.mainetravelingchef.com or on Facebook. Meals are typically prepared and delivered within 24 hours, can be frozen, and are typically $6 to $10 per meal.

JoAnn Brown, the Maine Traveling Chef, provides high-quality personal chef and catering services to the Greater Bangor region. She offers home-cooked meals, cooking for dinner parties and showers, cooking lessons, and catering for your parties and events. She is the executive chef and event planner at Avalon Village in Hampden.
