GREENVILLE – Piscataquis County Economic Development Council (PCEDC) will present a Snowmobile & ATV Summit, on October 10 at Trailside Restaurant in Greenville. This Summit was made possible through a grant from the US Department of Agriculture. This FREE workshop will be targeted toward Moosehead Regional Businesses that wish to cater to the snowmobile and ATV markets, in their respective seasons. The purpose of this event is to assist business people in increasing and maintaining existing business, to help them understand specifics regarding what each market expects, and to help business owners realize how to maximize their individual and collective competitiveness.

The panels will discuss in detail what snowmobilers and ATVers want in a destination in addition to good trails. Panel members will share visitor origination information, what these sports are seeking with regard to safety, equipment, lodging, amenities, parking, security, etc. “To make Greenville a year round tourist destination, it is important for businesses to understand ATV/Snowmobile riders and what they need & want as far as food, services & retail.” states Ken Woodbury, Community Development Director, PCEDC. A panel member will address what other markets are offering these sports and how we can best complete. Tourism experts will discuss best places or mechanisms to market and advertise to these specific markets. The panel will address what these markets want from a community to encourage their continued return.

Organizers want business people to go away from this seminar with 4-5 new things that they can do immediately to improve services to these markets . . . This does NOT mean – just better trails! Everyone knows that great trails are critical to success! In this summit, we are talking about better understanding the needs of the market beyond just trails!

Reservations are appreciated, as dinner will be served. To make your reservations please contact Bob Hamer at Moosehead Lake Region Chamber of Commerce at 695-2702 or 1-888-876-2778 or email at: info@mooseheadlake.org.
