The Downeast Lakes Land Trust is pleased to offer a magical evening on the water paddling by the light of a super moon. Starting on Milford Road, between Indian Township and Grand Lake Stream, participants will push off as the sun sets for an evening of relaxation, wildlife, and conversation. Led by Maine Guide, Deb Gorman, canoeists and kayakers will travel at a leisurely pace upstream to Flipper Creek, through the largest wetland complex in the Saint Croix River watershed with the moon rising to the light the way.
Attendees can expect to see waterfowl, raptors, and herons settling in, while moose, deer and other wildlife emerge for the night.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own canoe or kayak, as well as a PFD, a flashlight, and copious amounts of mosquito repellent.
Contact the Downeast Lakes Land Trust at 207-796-2100 or by emailing email@example.com if you would like to borrow a canoe or kayak.
