Molds and Textures for Metal Clay Workshop
Create your own unique reusable texture plates and simple molds for metal clay in this one-day workshop offered at the Beaded Moose, 1460 Outer Hammond Street, Bangor, on Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The workshop will be taught by local artist and certified PMC instructor Janelle Delicata.
Students will learn how to make reusable texture plates (photopolymer plates) to customize their metal clay or polymer clay work. We will use scratch foam and carving to make simple texture plates and will also explore simple one and two-part molds, which can be used to create hollow beads. Objects such as simple seashells, leaves, twigs and pebbles can be used to make molds. Molds and texture plates can be used over and over to reproduce objects and patterns.
Cost for the workshop is $75. Students will take home finished texture plates and molds, some molding compound and the experience to make textures and molds on their own. There will be some metal clay available for purchase and if time allows students can use their new molds to make some jewelry the day of the class.
Pre-registration is requested and class size is limited to six. Some experience in metal clay is helpful but not necessary. Please call the Beaded Moose to register at 207-992-2099. For more information call the Beaded Moose or Janelle Delicata at 207-944-8822.
