PORTLAND– Mercy Hospital announced today that Dr. Laura Blaisdell of InterMed and Lisa Toner, most recently of Maine Public, have joined Mercy’s Board of Trustees.
“Mercy is pleased to welcome Laura and Lisa to our board,” said Chris Howard, Chairman of Mercy Hospital’s Board of Trustees. “As we celebrate Mercy’s centennial this year, their leadership will help guide us into our next century of care.”
Dr. Blaisdell received her B.A. from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, a medical doctorate and public health degree (MD/MPH) at the University of Minnesota, and completed a residency in pediatrics at Maine Medical Center in 2005. She has held teaching positions at the University of Vermont and Tufts University School of Medicine. She is a practicing pediatrician and currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at InterMed. She conducts research with the Center for Outcome Research and Evaluation at Maine Medical Center Research Institute.
Lisa Toner, Esq., graduated from the business school at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and received her law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She and her husband, Nelson, reside in Portland. Lisa recently retired as Director of Human Resources for Maine Public Broadcasting Network. Prior to joining Maine Public, she was Vice President of Legal Affairs for Hannaford Bros. Lisa has been an active member of the Mercy Auxiliary for many years.
