Sunrise County Economic Council (SCEC) and the Women’s Business Center (WBC) at CEI have teamed up to offer a marketing workshop to area businesses as part of the Maine Woods Tourism Training Initiative (MWTTI). The workshop, titled “Marketing Essentials” is slated for Thursday, February 13 at the Machias CareerCenter from 9AM – noon. Registration is $10. Payment and registration are due Thursday, February 6.
“Marketing Essentials,” a three-hour basic workshop geared for Washington County entrepreneurs, will emphasize the vital role that marketing plays in growing local small businesses. Participants will learn about the six components of successful marketing, plus take away several no-cost or low-cost marketing ideas.
WBC Business Counselor Ruth Cash-Smith said, “One of my favorite definitions of ‘marketing’ is any activity that increases your target customers’ awareness of your product or service and motivates them to purchase it–and remain your customer. Periodically reviewing your business at every point of customer contact helps you discover how you can provide more value as well as more service to your customers, which is the focus of this workshop.”
All businesses, especially those who rely significantly on the tourism economy, are invited to attend.
