LEWISTON, Maine — Kevin Lewis, CEO of Maine Community Health Options (MCHO), recently announced that Maggie Kelley, MSN, APRN-CNP, COHN-S, has joined the organization as director, care management and quality.
MCHO is a not-for-profit that will provide affordable health insurance to Maine people and small businesses beginning in January 2014. The enrollment start date for the plan is October 1, 2013. Organized as a Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (CO-OP), MCHO’s mission is to provide high-quality benefits that promote health and wellbeing.
Kelley has worked extensively in occupational health leadership, consulting and direct care roles and has a wide-array of RN experience in acute and ambulatory care settings. Before joining MCHO she worked for Cigna Onsite Health as an onsite NP/healthcare advocate at a large defense contractor. Her earlier experience includes serving as director, employee health services at Maine Medical Center. She is also past president of the New England Chapter, Association of Occupational Health Professionals in Healthcare.
Kelley obtained her Masters in Nursing from Simmons College (1999), her bachelor’s in nursing from University of Southern Maine (1993) and her associate’s degree in nursing from Cape Cod Community College (1986). She has dual certification as an adult nurse practitioner through ANCC and a certified occupational health nurse-specialist through ABOHN.
She volunteers at Oasis Health Network in Brunswick, providing healthcare to uninsured, low-income residents of the southern mid-coast area of Maine. Kelley lives in Bath with her husband, son and chocolate lab.
