Maine Tourism Association announces new board members

The Maine Tourism Association has announced the addition of three new members to the Board of Directors.
The Maine Tourism Association is a private non-profit with more than 1,500 members that represent a wide variety of tourism interests. The Maine Tourism Association publishes the
Maine Invites You travel planner and the Official Maine Highway Map and operates, under contract with the Maine Office of Tourism, the Visitor Information Centers in Kittery, Yarmouth, Fryeburg, Calais, Houlton, Hampden North and South, and West Gardiner.

“These new board members represent important sectors of Maine’s far-reaching tourism industry and we welcome their interests and the expertise they bring to the Maine Tourism Association Board of Directors” states Vaughn Stinson, CEO.

James Brown, owner of Rideout’s Lakeside Lodge & Cottages on East Grand Lake in Weston. Purchased in 2012 by Jim and his wife, Kim, Rideout’s is well known for great fishing and dining in an iconic Maine setting. Jim’s background is in real estate and finance.

Kathy Dyer, executive director of the Maine Campground Owners Association, Lewiston. The Maine Campground Owners Association represents over 200 campgrounds throughout Maine and and publishes the Maine Camping Guide. Kathy has been with the association since 2002 where she previously held the position of Administrative Manager. Kathy and her husband Bill live in Turner, Maine where they raised their three children.

Jean Maginnis, founder and executive director of the Maine Center for Creativity in Portland.  Maginnis is an advocate for Maine’s creative industries and began Art All Around, an international design competition to paint the storage tanks owned by Sprague in the Port of Portland. Jean’s background is in marketing and she graduated from Boston College cum laude with a degree in Communications with a concentration in organizational development.
