BANGOR, Maine — More than 150 students from 12 Maine high schools will gather in Bangor High School on Saturday, March 22, for the 2014 Maine State Science Fair, organized by The Jackson Laboratory.
The program will be:
- 9 a.m.-noon: Judging, student projects on display
- Special presentation by Maine Robotics
- 2-3 p.m.: Award presentation
Students participating in this year’s Fair attend Bangor High School, Falmouth High School, George Stevens Academy, Gould Academy, Greeley High School, Maine School of Science and Mathematics, Mt. Ararat High School, Mount Desert Island Regional High School, Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and Watershed School. A volunteer team of 45 judges will review the projects.
Since 2012, winners of the Maine State Science Fair have been eligible to qualify for the INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair, the world’s largest science fair. The top three winners of the 2014 Maine Fair and their mentors will travel to Los Angeles in May for this year’s INTEL event.
