“These awards put the winning museums in excellent company at the top ranks of our region’s institutions,” said association executive director Dan Yaeger in announcing the honor. “Good communication design is vital to connecting museums and communities, so their success with publications reflects their success in their overall operations as well.”

The competition this year was intense, Yaeger said, with 201 publications from 63 museums entered in 11 different categories. Competition winners will be recognized and exhibited at the 98th annual NEMA Conference in Mystic, Connecticut, November 9-11.

For more than 95 years, the New England Museum Association has been the only organization in New England serving museums of all sizes and the people who work for and with them. NEMA’s mission is to strengthen member museums and museums in the region. To achieve this mission, NEMA fosters communication and ethical conduct, provides professional development, promotes excellence in museum operations, and encourages support for the museum community.
