The First Families Kennebunkport Museum , at White Columns, offers visitors a chance to tour an 1853 Greek Revival home and view exhibitions covering two centuries of Kennebunkport history.
Located in the he art of the village, this gem of Greek Revival architecture reflects the lives of Charles and Celia Perkins and subsequently the Nott family, whose fortunes were connected to the thriving shipbuilding era of Kennebunkport , making the town one of the wealthiest in New England . Original furnishings and French wallpaper reflect the luxurious living of the family.
Guided tours present stories and art ifacts from sea captains and shipbuilders to rusticators to Kennebunkport ’s most famous summer resident, former President George H.W. Bush and his family.
There is also a museum shop with a selection of maritime history collectibles, presidential memorabilia, and unique Kennebunkport treasures.
Located at 8 Maine Street , the museum is open Monday through Saturday, July 15 through October 14. Guided house tours begin on the hour and the half hour between 11 am and 5 pm, with the last tour at 4 pm. Admission is $7 per person, under age 12 free, 10% discount for AAA members.

Guided Village Walking Tours of historic Kennebunkport leave from the First Families Kennebunkport Museum and are offered from July through Columbus Day. Tours last approximately 1 hour. Tour is about 1 mile with some hills. Cost is $10 per person; 10% discount for AAA members.
