Maine Lighthouse Museum announces Five Lecture Series to begin September 21st

The Maine Lighthouse Museum will be hosting a series of five consecutive lectures on Saturdays, starting on September 21st and running thru October 19th. Each lecture will reference the history of the U.S. Coast Guard from the early Revenue Cutter Service, the U.S. Lifesaving Service, life on a Lightship and the lives of the keepers and their families living at isolated light stations.

September 21 – 2:00 PM – Living at a Lighthouse – Marla Rogers will relate her young years as a light keeper’s daughter. Marla was born when her father was stationed at Great Point Lighthouse on Nantucket Island off the Massachusetts coast and spent most of her early years at Owls Head Light in Maine.

Marla will be accompanied by Meg Gaunce who will be singing songs of the sea.
