Maine Drone Peace Walk Old Town – Bangor – Hermon
We invite you to join the “Preserve our Privacy: No Drone Spying in Maine peace walk” from Old Town to Bangor on Saturday, October 12th. The walk is part of a statewide walk (the week of October 10-l9) is being organized by the Maine Campaign to Bring Our War $$ Home and Maine Veterans for Peace.
Here are ways you can participate and/or support:
1)You are invited to join a part of the walk (we will have shuttles) beginning at 10:0 a.m. in Old Town Knights of Columbus Hall Gilman Falls Avenue or the entire walk to the Peace & Justice Center of Eastern Maine (12.8miles)
2) Simply show your support by attending a potluck supper and program at the First Congregational Church in Brewer from 6:00 – 8:00. The First Congregational Church will be preparing a pot of chili for the walkers and Children’s International Service Villages (CISV) will provide pumpkin bars made from their Community Garden for dessert. Bring a vegetarian dish to share. Voices for Peace will sing.
3) Volunteer to provide hospitality for one or more walkers (a total of twenty will need housing) in your home the evening of October 12th.
4) Join the walk the following morning at 8:30 walking a part or all of 6.1 miles tp Hermon towards Skowhegan.

This non-violent peace walk will be led by Buddhist monks and nuns from the Nipponzan Myohoji order. They are an order from Japan and specialize in doing peace walks all over the world.
We must push back against the expanding use of surveillance drones in the US and weaponized drones around the world that are killing many innocent people. There is much talk about bringing drones to Maine and making the Presque Isle airport a weaponized drone test center, thus our reason for starting the walk in Aroostook County. For more information:
