Jonesport-Beals High School Announces Class Parts

The Faculty and Administration of Jonesport-Beals High School proudly announce the class parts for the school year 2013-14.

Valedictorian is Brianna Cirone, daughter of Barbie and Stephen Cirone of Jonesport. Brianna is a member of the National Honor Society. In addition to numerous academic awards, Brianna has received the Maine Principal’s Award. Throughout her years at J-BHS, Brianna has been very active in the school serving on the student council as a representative, vice-president, and treasurer. She has also been involved in many other co-curricular activities, such as the mentoring, recycling, chorus, band, and the school play. She has also participated in the sports programs. She attended Dirigo Girls State in 2013. Brianna represented Jonesport-Beals at the Maine Youth Leadership Conference during her sophomore year; and has returned as a junior councilor during her junior & senior years. Brianna plans to attend the University of Maine at Orono.

Salutatorian is Samuel Lyons, son of Sylvina and Shawn Lyons of Beals. Samuel is a member of the National Honor Society. He is the Senior Class President and has also been very active in the school sports, plays, mentoring, and recycling programs. Samuel attended the New England Student Leadership Conference and has been on the student advisory council for the DAC and MPA. He attended Dirigo Boys State in 2013. Samuel plans to attend the University of Maine at Orono.

The class history will be given by Carlye Looke, daughter of Angela and Bruce Farren and Lawrence Looke of Addison; the class prophecy by Patrick Merchant, son of Wanda and Arthur Merchant of Beals; the class will by Cole Beal, the son of D’Anna and Mitchell Beal of Beals; the class gifts by Karissa Beam and Logan Alley. Karissa is the daughter of Denise Mahar of Whiting and Ernest Rackliff of Jonesport; and Logan is the son of Joy and Colon Alley of Jonesport.
