EASTPORT, Maine — John Miller has joined Millennium Marine USA as communications director. Millennium Marine USA, based in Eastport, is a leader and innovator of composite designed watercraft. More durable, lighter, energy efficient and built to last. The product line includes search and rescue, commercial and recreational vessels. Millennium Marine USA with offices in the USA and Canada sells to clients across North America and around the Globe.
Miller brings a wealth of experience to his new position. He is a former TV anchor and producer for ABC and NBC affiliates. His most recent work in television was for the BBC and Fox. He was the administrator of the Eastport Boat School which was part of Husson University. Prior to that he was public affairs director for Washington County Community College. He also oversaw the school’s International Studies Program. He was public affairs director and head of corporate development for Bay Ferries of Canada which operated the high speed ferry The Cat, M/V Princess of Acadia and M/V Confederation.
Most recently Miller worked for US Senator Angus King, Jr. in Washington, DC and here in Maine. He also worked for various members of the US House and US Senate as press secretary, media coordinator and field representative. Miller also served as King’s press secretary when he was governor of Maine.
He was publisher and editor of the travel magazine Bula distributed in Fiji, around the world by the Fiji Visitors Bureau and in-flight on aircraft to the Fiji Islands including Qantas, Air Pacific and Canadian Airlines. He also built the first television network in the Caribbean island`s of Grenada following the US Intervention. While there he served as a communications advisor to prime ministers Herbert Blaise and Keith Mitchell.
Miller lives in Eastport where he served on the Eastport City Council. He started the now famous Eastport Pirate Festival which attracts upward of 15000 people to an island community of 1300.
Millennium Marine has been serving the needs of fisherman, business owners, recreational users and governments for over 40 years. It is now in it’s third generation of family ownership.
