The Blue Hill Public Library invites kids ages 8 and up to join the “Inklings” Book and Movie Club on Saturday August 26th at 2:00 PM. Inklings explores stories of clever children who use their wits to overcome insurmountable odds. This month the book is The Spiderwick Chronicles: The Field Guide by Mark Waters. The movie of the same name was released in 2008 and directed by Mark Waters.
Libby, the library’s youth services librarian says, “Elves, faeries, goblins, and ogres…strange things are happening at Spiderwick Estate! What do these magical creatures want and are you brave enough to find out? Come watch the film, eat some faerie food, and make a seriously enchanted craft to take home.” Copies of the book are available now, so interested kids can stop by and check one out.
“Inklings” welcomes kids of all ages, with a suggested age range of 8 and up. The books and movies the group reads and watches together cover a wide range of subjects and styles, and the library encourages families to research them in advance and decide which are right for each child.
