Husson University rallies in support of those affected by Boston tragedy

People at Husson University sport Boston-wear Friday, April 19, in support of those affected by the Boston Marathon tragedy.

BANGOR, Maine — Husson University rallied on Friday in support of those affected by the events surrounding the Boston Marathon tragedies. The students, faculty, staff and alumni were encouraged to sport their favorite Boston attire on Friday, April 19.

Students were seen across campus with Bruins, Red Sox, and Celtics hats, shirts, jerseys and jackets.  A group gathered in the G. Peirce Webber Campus Center, where President Robert Clark spoke for a moment and held a moment of reflection for those affected by the recent tragedies.

According to a press release, President Robert Clark said, “As a campus community, we wish to express our solidarity with the citizens of Boston as they exhibit such courage in the face of the adversity of human actions at the end of the 117th Boston Marathon. We extend our sympathy to those who have lost loved ones. We also send wishes for a speedy recovery to those with both physical and emotional scars from Monday’s acts of violence.”
