Waterfront craftsman-style cottage to be featured on tour

STONINGTON: “An Outing to Oceanville,” the Stonington Public Library’s tenth annual house tour on Friday, July 13, from 1 to 4 p.m., will feature five houses. The tour is a benefit for the library. All of this year’s homes are located in Oceanville and most are hidden from the main road. The tour begins just before the bridge to Whitmore Neck (Oceanville) with two contrasting vacation homes—one an 1800’s era house and the other a modernist structure designed by Emily Muir. Three homes are on Oak Hill Lane, with its rolling lawns and breath-taking views of Southeast Harbor. One home features an indoor swimming pool while another has its very own Petanque court.
Tickets for the tour are $15 and available at the library as well as from the following island merchants: Dockside Books and Gifts, Island Approaches, Boyce’s Motel, and the Dry Dock, all in Stonington, and from the Turtle Gallery in Deer Isle. Tickets are also available from the Stonington Library board members. On the day of the tour, tickets will be on sale in front of the library. Tickets sell fast, so get yours soon and prepare to go on an Outing to Oceanville.
