Volunteers Needed for HOPE Festival
The free 20th annual HOPE (Help Organize Peace Earthwide) Festival will be held on Saturday, April 26th from 11-4 at the University of Maine Student Recreation and Fitness Center. The festival celebrates the earth and our connections to each other.
The festival features an organizational fair with more than 60 non-profit social change groups, displays and demonstrations by “green” organizations, talks to inform and inspire, live music and entertainment as well as a children’s program and food for sale by local vendors.
Volunteers are needed on April 26th to set from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 am, to help exhibitors from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., throughout the day with the children’s program, food concession and to clean up from 4:00 – 5:30. Join us to celebrate our connections to the earth and to each other and to affirm the power of our united efforts at the 20th annual HOPE Festival on Saturday, April 26th from 11-4 at the University of Maine’s Student Recreation and Fitness Center in Orono.
On the menu will be a full day of information sharing, networking, sustainability demonstrations, entertainment, a fun and informative children’s program and delicious food for sale by local vendors.
This year’s inspiring keynote speaker for HOPE will be Indigenous Rights Activist, Sherri Mitchell. The HOPE Festival Singers and Inanna Sisters in Rhythm will bring their energy as the headline performers. Families and children will delight in Zachary Field’s amazing juggling, learn acro-yoga, create hats from recycled materials and plant seedlings and more.
