The Concert Series, a constituent group of the Eastport Arts Center, presents guitarist Aaron Larget-Caplan on Friday, June 20th at 7pm for a performance of “Virtuoso Music from Around the World.” Called “a riveting Artist” by the Washington Post, Larget-Caplan explores Spanish and Latin American dances, love songs, lullabies of Schubert and Gershwin, epic myths from Japan, and music inspired by the Maine Coast during this one-night-only Eastport debut.
Since his debut performance at age 16, Larget-Caplan has premiered over 50 compositions and founded three successful music endeavors: the New Lullaby Project and Greater Boston House Concerts, and ¡Con Fuego! – a classical Spanish music and flamenco dance ensemble. He is a sought-after soloist and chamber music performer, and has released two solo records and been featured on numerous others. He is a dedicated educator, and has both performed and taught all over the world. Currently residing in Boston, Larget-Caplan keeps an active private studio and teaches at the Boston Conservatory and University of Massachusetts Boston. The Eastport Arts Center shares Larget-Caplan’s view of the importance of listening to live classical performances, and is thrilled to offer the music of this renowned performer to the community. Admission is $10, free for 18 and under. A reception will follow with refreshments courtesy of Dastardly Dick’s. The Eastport Arts Center is located at 36 Washington Street in Eastport.
