BANGOR, Maine — Gifford’s Famous Ice Cream and the Travis Mills Foundation will hold an All American-themed party in celebration of Gifford’s 30th anniversary 4-6 p.m. Monday, July 31, at Gifford’s ice cream stand, 1109 Broadway.
The free and open to the public celebrations will feature a welcome and remarks, including recognition of service men and women 4:15-4:30 p.m., and a meet and greet with motivational speaker and veterans’ advocate Travis Mills, photos, raffle of Mills’ signed book “Tough as They Come”, and ice cream 4:30-6 p.m. Giffords will hand out American flags.
Rain date will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2.
Gifford’s announced its new partnership with the Travis Mills Foundation in May, and is sponsoring one of the 56 veteran families scheduled to stay at the recently opened Travis Mills Veterans Retreat located in Rome. It also is donating almost 100 gallons of ice cream for the families visiting the retreat and for special events. Gifford’s also is raising awareness and funds for the Foundation’s mission at the company’s five family owned stands located in Auburn, Bangor, Farmington, Skowhegan and Waterville.
