‘Foolhens and Timberdoodles’ talk in Old Town

The Friends of Sunkhaze Meadows National Wildlife Refuge presents “Foolhens and Timberdoodles: A Pair of Interesting Forest Birds,” a talk by researcher Steve Dunham 10-11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at Daybreak Cafe on Main Street in Old Town.

The Spruce grouse and American woodcock are two interesting birds that live in Maine’s forests. Learn all about them as Dunham presents his research material on the spruce grouse and discusses the habits and life history of woodcock.

The Friends of Sunkhaze Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in Milford hold the Sunkhaze Cafe series on the third Saturday of the month at the Daybreak Bakery on Main Street  in Old Town. Sunkhaze Cafe is an informative and informal discussion series often followed by a hike and exploration of the bog and surrounding forest of Sunkhaze Meadows in Milford.
