Tony McKim, President and Chief Executive Officer of First National Bank recently announced that the Bank has donated $25,000 to support United Farmer Veterans of Maine. McKim announced this donation at a press conference held at First National Bank’s Bangor Office on January 8, 2018.

“We are very pleased to support this fine organization” stated McKim. “As a company, First National Bank is not only committed to helping our state’s veteran community, but we are also passionate about ending food insecurity in Maine. Support for UFVME not only helps veterans find a new purpose and mission in life, but also contributes to the local food movement in our state which, in turn, works to help end hunger.”
In addition to making this donation, First National Bank will assist United Farmer Veterans in a variety of ways. Mr. McKim will be joining the organization’s board as a Community Director and UFVME and the Bank will work together to meet the financial needs of UFVME members.

“United Farmer Veterans of Maine is very proud to welcome First National Bank to our board. As a valued member of our organization we look forward to advancing and developing new agribusinesses across Maine with the strong financial council of the First National Team.” stated Jerry Ireland, CEO of UFVM. “We are impressed with First National’s commitment to healthy food, food security, and the importance of building strong communities across all of Maine. 2018 looks to be a great year for Maine’s Farmer Veterans as we expand opportunities and resources. We are excited to have First National Bank on our team!”
