11 Maine Organizations Benefit from Infinity Federal Credit Union’s ‘Parking For a Purpose’

BANGOR — Infinity Federal Credit Union, Maine’s first credit union, donated its Downtown Bangor branch parking lot for local non-profit organizations to use for car parking fundraisers during this summer’s Waterfront Concert series. This year’s program netted these good causes more than $7,000.

“Employees of Infinity FCU are empowered to make a difference in their communities.  Parking For a Purpose is one of many programs they undertake to make that difference,”   said Elizabeth Hayes, president and CEO Elizabeth Hayes.

Hayes announced these results from fundraising events:

Old Town Cheerleaders         $1,208

Bangor Humane Society         $   850

Red Cross                              $   311

Dexter Recreation Dept.         $   950

Girl Scouts—Troop 2001        $   700

Fire Forward                           $1,012

Kiwanis                                    $1,020

Phillips Strickland House        $   345

Silent Sidekicks                       $   430

Maine Discovery Museum      $   240

Dempsey Challenge               $   380

The total for all participating agencies was $7,446.

“This was a terrific opportunity for Infinity FCU employees to give something back to the communities we serve,” said Hayes.  “We plan to grow ‘Parking For a Purpose’ to include more organizations in 2018.
