BUCKSPORT — An Ecumenical Service of Christian Unity, Healing for our Nation, and Peace in our World will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, at Bucksport United Methodist Church, 71 Franklin St.
The service concludes the week of Christian unity celebrated each year in correlation with Martin Luther King Day.  The resources for this year’s Week of Prayer for Christian Unity have been prepared by the churches of the Caribbean.
God’s word continues to be a source of consolation and liberation, inspiring the Christian community to address the conditions that currently undermine human dignity and quality of life. People and clergy from the area churches will help to lead the service and all are welcome regardless of church/faith affiliation.
A love offering will be taken and given to United Methodist Committee on Relief Disaster Recovery efforts from the wildfires, hurricanes, and other natural disasters in the United States.
