Ethan Addison Hall, a member of Boy Scout troop 478 in Orono, recently earned the highest honor in Boy Scouts, the Eagle Scout award. Only 3 percent of all Boy Scouts attain this honor.

Highlights of his 5 plus years in scouting with troop 478 include several one mile swims at Camp Roosevelt, hiking Mount Katahdin, biking up and down Cadillac Mountain, earning his small boat sailing merit badge and participating in yearly food drives for local food cupboards.

Ethan’s Eagle Scout project consisted of refurbishing the Our Lady of Fatima statues once located next to Saint Mary’s Church in Orono, then creating a new base and garden space to relocate the statues to Holy Family Church in Old Town.

Ethan would like to thank all those who donated time, materials and hard work to complete this project. Clement Masonry Inc, Owen J Folsom Sand and Gravel Co., Knights of Columbus, and Orono Daughters of Isabella. He is also grateful for his Scoutmasters Dr. Brian Frederick and Dr. Mark Lena for helping him on his trail to Eagle.
