The Dover Cove Farmers ended their summer market with a Thanksgiving Dinner raffle on October 28, 2017. Melanie Baird was the lucky winner of the package which will include a turkey, homemade dinner rolls, and a pie along with a variety of locally produced vegetables. She and her family visit the farmers market as often as they need fresh veggies and eggs, and feel that farmers markets are “vital to the community as well as the environment”. A big thank you goes out to all who visited their summer markets and purchased raffle tickets!
This year they will hold a winter market downstairs at the Thompson Library in Dover starting on November 18th. The market will be held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month.
Are you a vendor, crafter, or artisan looking to expand your business? It just so happens that they are seeking such individuals as guest, part-time, or even full-time vendors at their winter market. If this interests you please give Rose Rapp a call at (207) 322-8368, because they would love to have you. She can also be reached at email@example.com.
When asked why vendors should participate, Rose remarked that “it’s a great way to interact with the community”. Gale Robinson of Leaves and Blooms Greenhouse calls it a “great way to promote your business”.
Both Gale and Rose agree that people should visit the market because it offers an excellent way “to support your local farmers and gain access to good food..” Be sure to stop by!
