Cross Insurance hires Michael J. Dufour as VP of commercial lines at Augusta office

BANGOR, Maine — Cross Insurance, a subsidiary of Cross Financial Corp., and one of the largest independent insurance providers in New England, announces that Michael J. Dufour has joined the firm as vice president of commercial lines at Cross Insurance’s Augusta branch.

In this new role, Dufour will manage the Commercial Lines department in Augusta as well as assume responsibility of Risk Management Services for select clients. Within his role, Dufour joins the Augusta branch management team in helping to optimize branch planning and strategy development.

An insurance industry veteran, Dufour brings a wealth of experience to Cross Insurance.  Prior to joining Cross, he spent 26 years with Willis of Northern New England (formerly the Dunlap Agency), where he rose from commercial lines account executive to vice president.  He holds an active Property/Casualty license; Surplus Lines license; as well as non-resident licenses for New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Ohio and Indiana.

A Maine native, Dufour received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and marketing from Husson College, and an Associate of Science degree in resource management from the University of Maine/Orono.  He has been active in numerous volunteer activities and local committees, including the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kennebec Valley, the American Subcontractors Association, and the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce.  Mike, his wife and family have lived in the Winthrop area for the past 26 years.
