On August, 11,12,13, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Cold Comfort Theater will present a brief play, The Triumph and Tragedy of Smike, a friendship wrought from misery at 6pm in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church, 95 High St, Belfast. All tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door or at Left Bank Books.

This brief morality tale reflects on the never ending battle between good and evil as told though the eyes of Charles Dickens and focusing on the relationship between Nicholas Nickleby and the lonely and abused orphan, Smike. This one act adaptation uses much of the text from Dickens’s novel and is presented in Chamber Theater style, using only suggested props, costumes and sets.

Come join us for a visit to Dickens’s England, with a peek at the British boys schools of the 1880’s. This time good wins over evil!

The cast of 13 features many local stage favorites with ages from 7 to 70. Three performances only beginning at 6:00pm. First Baptist has full handicap access both in parking and in stage access.
