Brush up your chainsaw skills at this workshop geared for both novices and more experienced loggers.
It will be led by Ted Wright, who oversees the Northeast Master Logger Certification Program and Brent West of Georges River Land Trust. Participants will be divided into two groups, advanced and novice/intermediate. Chainsaw maintenance, safety, and proper bucking and felling techniques will be demonstrated. Protective gear and chainsaws will be available. Participants can bring their own chainsaws.
Bring a bagged lunch. This free event is sponsored by Maine Woodland Owners, Georges River Land Trust and Northeast Master Logger Certification Program.
Workshop will be held at Robbins Lumber Co. in Searsmont. Please use the south entrance off Rte. 131 Follow Maine Woodland Owner signs to the forestry office.
