The Breed Match and All American Match can be a good experience for the first-time dog enthusiast to participate in, or just come to watch and get a first hand look at what the competitions consist of. The Breed Match will consist of a Puppy Class, categories will be puppies 3-6 months, 6-9 months, and 9-12 months, a Junior Class, and an Open Class. Junior Showmanship classes offer youngsters 18 years and under the opportunity to develop their handling skills, learn about good sportsmanship, and learn about dogs and dog shows. The starting time for the Breed Match is at 10 a.m. The cost is $5 for the first dog and $3 for a second dog.
The All American Breed Match will follow. The All American Match is for purebred or non purebred neutered/spayed dogs and all dogs are welcome whether they are registered with the AKC Canine Partners Program or not. Dogs will be judged on Best Female, Best Male, and Best Junior Handler. Cost is the same as the Breed Match. The judge will be Lucy Richard.
Canine Good Citizen testing will begin at 9 a.m. Testing is open to all dogs and Dotty Dudley will be the evaluator. CGC testing covers most of what a Therapy Dog Test covers for those who might want to pursue that title in the future. The cost for the Canine Good Citizen test is $20.
There also will be a The Doctor Is In Booth from 9 to 10 a.m. with Dr Andrea Pesut. She will have various scopes on hand and will demonstrate on how to listen to heartbeats, look into ears, and other wellness elements. Dr. Andrea will answer questions you may have concerning your pets. Microchipping will be available for those interested in having the procedure done for a fee.
