CAMDEN — Camden Garden Club was delighted to welcome nine new members on Aug. 13 with a morning coffee held at the Owls Head home of membership chair Molly Foster.  Board members were responsible for providing the delicious array of refreshments and a number of regular members were also on hand for the occasion.  The newcomers took turns describing their interests in the activities of the club, and their reasons for joining, and each received a pair of gardening gloves as a welcome gift.  The new members are: Andrea Bell, Stacie Gulkis, Mary Kay Hayes, Mena Holmes, Sherry James, Susan Kauck, Carolyn Kirk, Diane Lebson and Jo Ann Simon.

Regular meetings of the Camden Garden Club take place the fourth Thursday of each month, April through October, at the First Congregational Church in Camden.  At 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, Annie Kassler will be speaking about “Bats – Nature’s Insecticide.” All meetings are free and open to the public.

Camden Garden Club is a member of the Garden Club Federation of Maine and National Garden Clubs, Inc.  Guests and prospective members are always welcome.  For more information about the club and its activities visit camdengardenclub.org or email camdengardenclub100@gmail.com.
