BREWER, Maine — The Brewer Athletic Boosters, Kiah Scholarship committee and athletic coaching staff are once again collaborating on an effort to host their annual golf tournament at the Traditions Golf Course and Learning Center in Holden.

The 2nd annual Dennis B. Kiah Scholarship and Athletic Hall of Fame Golf Classic presented by the Brewer Federal Credit Union will be held Saturday, August 2, at the Traditions Golf Course in Holden.

There are two tee times for this event. The first session will tee off at 8:30 a.m. and will be an 18-hole event. Cost for the morning session is as follows: $75 with a cart, $60 without a cart. The afternoon session will tee off at 1:30 p.m. and will be a 9-hole event. Cost for the afternoon session is as follows: $50 with a cart, $40 without a cart.

Registrations are due by July 23 in order to ensure golfers receive a polo shirt courtesy of Wight’s Sporting Goods.

There will be a lunch served to golfers in between sessions with raffles and other prizes being awarded as well.

The Kiah Golf Classic benefits the Dennis B. Kiah Scholarship fund as well as the Brewer Boosters Club and their efforts to supplement uniform funding at Brewer High School and other normal funding requests they receive in a given school year.

Registration forms can be picked up at the Brewer Community School at 92 Pendleton Street between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. during the work week, at the Traditions Golf Course in Holden or by emailing David Utterback at
