BikeMaine is an event in which people experience Vacationland in an entirely new way. Bicyclists will spend Sept. 9 – 16 discovering the “Pathway to the Peaks” experiencing natural beauty along specially curated daily routes paired with welcoming host communities and of course, the freshest and tastiest food Maine has to offer. The bicyclists pedal approximately 55 miles a day. “Pathway to the Peaks” begins arriving in Pittsfield after 12:00 noon on Sunday, Sept.10.

Lots of activities and events to be available in this great economic and community development project. 400 riders along with 75 – 150 volunteers and guests will descend on Pittsfield Sunday afternoon to see and experience the best that Pittsfield has to offer. For general information on BikeMaine, contact the Pittsfield Town Office at 487-3136 or townmanager@pittsfield.org to learn more and about how your business or non-profit organization can become involved. Check out the event’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/BikeMainePittsfield/

Specific ways that you can get involved are listed below. Lots of opportunities available to show off the community and region to our many guests and to promote your services and products. We are especially looking for Maine made products.

Farmers/Artisans/Crafters: There will be a Farmers/Artisans/Crafters Market on site at Manson Park on September 10th during the Bike Maine gathering. Riders come from all over the USA and all over the world. If you would like to showcase your Maine Made arts and crafts, or sell locally grown produce, please contact our Vendor Coordinator: Robin Chase at: Robin.Chase@bangor.com

Volunteers Needed: We are seeking volunteers – especially the day of September 10th when most of the activities for BikeMaine in Pittsfield will take place. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator: Katelyn Chase kchase62@gmail.com

Business Opportunities for Promotion: Lots of opportunities to promote your business. For example, your business could sponsor part of an event or a great resource for the bicyclists such as a map of town assets and activities. Pitch your ideas to us. Contact Kathryn Ruth Town Manager at townmanager@pittsfield.org

This is a very large event which can be great for the region – we really need a lot of volunteers to properly support the event and promote our unique community and region to our guests. Please volunteer today!
