BANGOR, Maine — The Bangor Public Library is pleased to announce the arrival of Lisa Frazell as the director of marketing and development, effective immediately. Frazell will be responsible for the ongoing education and awareness of the library’s services and programs, as well as leading the front for its fundraising activities.
“The library is delighted that [Lisa] Frazell is joining us to help complete [our] $9 million capital campaign and to help get the word out about the many exciting services and changes happening,” says Barbara McDade, director for the Bangor Public Library, in a press release. “We are living in an age of great change [and] Lisa will help communicate the services and programs we offer to meet the demands of our users.”
Frazell hails from The American Red Cross where she was primarily responsible for educating the public about the importance of donating blood and serving as the marketing and media liaison for Greater Bangor. She has extensive experience in both nonprofit, volunteer and sponsor management.
“I’m extremely excited and humbled by this opportunity,” says Frazell. “Being a lover of books and passionate for the nonprofit sector, this was a natural fit…I look forward to this great opportunity to help the Library grow.”
The Bangor Public Library is currently petitioning the public’s assistance in replacing the copper roof. Outlasting original predictions, the current copper dome and roof has protected this beloved community treasure for 100 years. Now, the Library is asking for support from the community they serve to help fund the much needed repairs at the polls on June 18th.
