At the Bangor Campus of the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA), several members of the faculty and staff marked the arrival of a new sign with a group photo.
The sign, which faces Maine Avenue and is in front of Camden Hall, is constructed from 100-year-old granite salvaged from the Augusta YMCA building and donated to UMA. UMA architecture students developed the initial drawings that were used by DeWan & Associates, a Yarmouth landscape architect and planning firm, in finalizing the design specifications. Sullivan and Merritt Constructors of Hermon installed the sign.
The new sign advances a campus master planning goal of providing a more welcoming and visible entrance to UMA’s Bangor Campus.
