BETHEL, Maine — Mahoosuc Arts Council will present its ARTirondack Auction 2014 at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Bethel Common Bandstand just after MollyOckett Day Parade awards. The auction will feature individual Adirondack chairs painted by local artists.

The council said in a press release that the project celebrates the talents of local artisans while raising funds that further its continuing efforts “to support the advancement of the arts and humanities in the adult communities and school systems of the greater Bethel area.”

Sponsors of the 2014 chairs are: Doug Zinchuck Roofing, Pat’s Pizza, Elements Art Gallery, Bethel Bait and Tackle, and Reggie and Mary Brown. Businesses providing viewing locations for the chairs are: Bethel USPS, Norway Savings Bank, Ruthie’s Boutique/Bethel Village Motel, and the Bethel Inn Resort. The council also recognized local chairmaker Reggie Brown of Hooked on Country, and the local artists who hand painted the one-of-a-kind chair designs: Lauren Head, Tera Ingraham, Sarah Renee Lane, Sarah,  Shepley, Audrey Arguin, Kathy Berbarian, Sonia Albin, Aranka Matolcsy and The Eddy School Students guided by Sarah Hemeon.

Those interested who are unable to attend the live auction may  submit a “left bid” by calling the Mahoosuc Arts Council at 207-824-3575 or its director at 207-890-6386.
