Andrea Ritz Clinics in Paraguay: A story that needs to be told

I would like to suggest a story I believe the community would love to hear about. George and Sylvia Ritz live in Bradford, Me. She is a retired school teacher and he does forestry management for the State of Maine. In 1995 they lost their 12 year old daughter as the result of a spontaneous onset of childhood diabetes. Looking for a healthy way to channel their grief and a place to invest the donations they had received from people wanting to remember Andrea when she died, they took on the task of building a clinic in Paraguay where they had lived and worked when Andrea was just an infant. They are in the process of building a third clinic and I think a second school in remote locations in Paraguay. They have been responsible for providing electricity and clean water to parts of Paraguay that had never seen these kinds of luxuries. Their story is truly an amazing one and I have had the privelege of hearing most of it and seeing the pictures they post on a Facebook page called Andrea Ritz Clinics. Andrea’s brithday is coming up I believe on October 5th. She would be in her twenties now if she had survived. Her father and mother continue to work diligently to improve the quality of life for people who live in remote areas in Paraguay, all in honor of their daughter.
I suggested that their story should be heard or in this case read, by the community and I offered to take the time to make that suggestion to our local newspaper.
