Andrea Nemitz joins staff at Maine Community Foundation

PORTLAND, Maine — The Maine Community Foundation recently announced the appointment of Andrea Nemitz as communications and marketing specialist.

Originally from Wisconsin, Nemitz graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism. She lives in Buxton with her husband, Bill Nemitz.

Nemitz was a newspaper reporter and editor in the Midwest and Maine prior to joining the community foundation staff. She was a senior editor at the Sun Journal in Lewiston and Portland Press Herald and also managed four weekly newspapers in York and Cumberland counties. Nemitz was president of the New England Associated Press News Executives Association and executive director of the Maine Press Association. She volunteers with the Buxton-Hollis Historical Society.
