Maine born and raised Alice Limoges will be returning to Maine during her August tour. Known previously as a solo singer songwriter, she will now be joined by a 5 piece band. They will be playing in Portland at The Dogfish Bar and Grille 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6; and at the Camden Amphitheater 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7; and at the Historical Church in Cushing 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10. They will also be performing on WMPG’s Local Motives (Portland) on Aug. 9.
During her time studying music at SUNY Purchase, she formed her band which has further defined her sound, including Jordan Tetewsky on violin and Sara Donnellan on piano and backup vocals. Jazz and country rooted bassist Darren Hicks and rock drummer Zach Chaffee met Limoges at The University of Maine Augusta and will be joining the band for their Summer 2014 northeastern tour.
After the tour, which has shows everywhere between NYC and Maine, the band will be recording Limoges’ second full length album, “As Close As You Can Be Without Touching” in Hollowell, ME in the same studio where she recorded her 2011 debut “Not Gonna Fall Asleep Tonight,” to be released late 2014. The independent album is being crowdfunded at igg.me/at/alicelimoges2014/x/6972081.
