The Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the Maine Whoopie Pie Festival is returning for its FIFTH year!

The festival is a collaboration of The Center Theatre and the Chamber of Commerce, and is held in Dover Foxcroft. The one day event is separated into two areas, one called the “Whoopie Pie Zone”, and the other “Main Street Zone”. The Main St. Zone also includes a terrific children’s area on the grounds of the Varney Agency which will have bounce
houses, bungee jumps, pony rides, and games all day long!
Kids can also participate in the ‘Earn Your Whoopie Pie’ 3K Race and kids 1K fun Run, sponsored by the PRYMCA, which begins at the start of the festival. There will also be entertainment by Conjuring Carroll and comedy-juggler Bryson Lang, and live music.

Maine Street Dover-Foxcroft will be filled with artists and craftspeople, a wonderful variety of vendors (you won’t leave empty handed)and great choices for food!

Of course, we cannot neglect to mention what brings people to the Festival – Whoopie Pies! Dozens of bakers have registered to present their prized Whoopie Pies, various shapes, flavors and themes. Don’t come without your sweet tooth! For the first time this year, the festival will also be crowning the festival “Big Whoop”. “We’re holding a contest sponsored by Will’s Shop ‘n Save and Freedom House Bed and Breakfast to crown the festival ‘Big Whoop.’, said Patrick Myers, co-director of the festival. “This lucky person will get a truly massive prize package along with lots of honors the day of the festival.” Details of the contest are being closely guarded.

Denise Buzzelli, Executive Director of the Chamber is thrilled to co-direct the event: “This is a wonderful opportunity to bring thousands to Piscataquis County for a unique festival the entire family can truly enjoy. Vendors and Bakers are traveling from all over New England and abroad to be involved; our hope is that visitors will do the same! It will be worth it, and it will be delicious!”
