MILO — The 56th annual Schoodic Lake ice fishing derby to benefit Milo Fire Department charities and events will be held Feb. 17 and 18, on Schoodic, Ebeemee, Seboeis and Boyd lakes.
Tickets are $10, and includes the entry fee, plus chances in a drawing. A dollar from each ticket benefit Angel Flight NE. Participation in the derby is not required for grand prize and shore prize drawings totaling more than $15,000 value. Grand prize a 2017 Sportsman 450 H.O. EPS ATV. Shore prizes include ice fishing equipment, chainsaw, whale watch cruise and deep sea fishing, ice auger, weekend cabins, hunting rifle, flagpole with flag; also various gift certificates.
Milo Firefighters Auxiliary will hold a 50-50 raffle.
Cash prizes for fish are: first prize, $400 each for biggest togue, salmon and trout, $200 for second and $100 for third; first prize for biggest cusk, perch, pickerel or bass, $200, second $100; largest togue or salmon receives lifetime fishing license sponsored by Bailey Lumber. Also prize drawings for donated firewood, ice fishing equipment, ice fishing shelter, metal artwork, cabin stays, floor jack, 18-volt drill and several gift certificates for registered fish will be streamed online at 7 p.m. Feb. 18, at Three Rivers Community website www.trcmaine.org.
