SEARSMONT, Maine — The Searsmont Community Center, Main Street North, will host the 25th Annual Town Library Book and Bake Sale 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, July 19. The Community Center will be filled with delicious baked goods to purchase such as cookies, pies, cakes, as well as locally produced items such as honey, thousands of books for sale that will appeal to children as well as adults, hundreds of yard sale items at “Grandma’s Attic,” and more than 120 great items up for bid at the Silent Auction.
The Searsmont Town Library’s 25th Annual Book and Bake Sale is sponsored by the library, the Friends of the Searsmont Town Library, as well as 35 volunteers. The funds that are raised through the sale and auction are nearly one third of the revenue that is needed to operate the Searsmont Town Library. The library serves Searsmont and outlying towns that include Hope, Appleton, Belmont, and Morrill.
“You browse, eat fantastic baked goods, enjoy the company of familiar faces, leave with a good book or several and maybe even something nice for the home,” says Roger Quehl, trustee of the library. The proceeds benefit the library for current and future service.
