Cary Medical Center recently held its Annual Employee Longevity Awards Banquet at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center recognizing 74 employees with a combined 1,205 years of service to the hospital. Among those attending the banquet and recognized for 55 years of continuous service in the hospital laboratory was Mary Lou Nelson, (seated). Nelson received a number of gifts recognizing her years of service including an Amish crafted Rocking Chair, a canvas print of Cary Medical Center and airline tickets to visit her family in Alaska. Kris Doody, RN, and Chief Executive Officer at Cary, said that 55 Years of Service is a record for the hospital. After providing cancer care services in Cary Medical Center’s Specialty Clinic for more than 36 years, Dr. Ronald Rohe, Oncologist/Hematologist, was recently honored at a farewell retirement reception attended by physician colleagues, hospital administration and many Cary staff members.
