The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Wednesday arrested two men in Corinth for trafficking crack cocaine, and seized crack cocaine and heroin along with $8,000 in drug proceeds and two loaded guns.

MDEA agents, along with the Maine State Police and the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Shawn Bowman, 46, of Corinth and Angel Lugo, 30, of Bethlehem, Connecticut, at Bowman’s Ledge Hill Road home, according to a news release from Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.

The investigation started weeks ago when the MDEA received information that drugs were being sold out of Bowman’s home, according to MDEA Commander Darrell Crandall. The investigation included MDEA agents purchasing drugs from Bowman at least twice.

Bowman was also charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person for the loaded 12-gauge shotgun and Glock 9mm pistol found at his home during the raid.

Bowman and Lugo are being held at the Penobscot County jail.
