98 Wake n' Shake will move into the Bangor Public Library next week.

98 Wake ‘N Shake, the downtown Bangor coffee shop and cafe, announced Monday that it will move from Central Street to the cafe space in the atrium at the Bangor Public Library.

The Bangor Public Library formerly housed the Sage Cafe, a coffee shop operated by Seasons Restaurant. It opened in Spring 2017 and closed in April 2018.

Owners Lisa Overlock and Regan Robson opened 98 Wake ‘N Shake in early 2017 in the former location of Java Joe’s, which was adjacent to former bookshop BookMarc’s. In the new library space, they plan to keep many of the same menu items as before, including Carrabassett Coffee; smoothies; bubble tea; hot tea; and an array of breakfast sandwiches, wraps, panini and pastries.

A cafe space in the library was part of the plan during the $9 million, multiyear renovation effort that included the new glass atrium and was completed in late 2016.

Overlock and Robson intend to open in their new location Monday, Dec. 10. Their operating hours will be Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
