Authorities searching for West Bath man, 70, last seen Friday

Authorities are searching for 70-year-old Edward Barrett, a West Bath man who was last reportedly seen on Friday, Nov. 17.

Authorities in Sagadahoc County are searching for a 70-year-old West Bath man who was last seen Friday.

Edward Barrett, who lives by himself at 63 Beaver Brook Road, was reported missing by his daughter on Sunday, according to Cpl. John MacDonald of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

Barrett is tall, with blue eyes and blondish, white hair and weighs 190 pounds. He was last seen by a neighbor walking shirtless and wearing khaki-colored pants on his road around 7 p.m. Friday, MacDonald said.

Maine game wardens, Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s deputies and the West Bath Fire Department are using planes and police dog units to comb the woods and neighborhoods around his house, police said. The fire station on State Road was designated a search command post.

Authorities are asking the public with help finding Barrett. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the Gray Regional Communication Center at 207-657-3030 or the Sagadahoc County Police dispatch at 207-443-9711.
