A Lisbon man was arrested last week and charged with domestic violence terrorizing after allegedly setting furniture on fire and breaking a television in front of his girlfriend and her two young children.

Chase Hunter, 23, is scheduled to appear in Androscoggin County court on Sept. 6, Lisbon Police Chief Marc Hagan said Tuesday.

Officers went to the home on Upland Road at about 10:30 p.m. the previous day and found the 24-year-old woman and her two children, ages 3 and 1, in fear following Hunter’s alleged rampage, Hagan said.

Following an argument with the woman, Hunter “started to burn the top of the victim’s dresser with a torch-like lighter, and he broke a flat-screen TV,” Hagan said.

Hunter was not at the house at the time, but police arrested him without incident early the next morning. He was held without bail due to a charge of violation of conditions of release, Hagan said.
