A Marshfield teen died Monday when his pickup truck crashed into a partly filled blueberry truck in Northfield.

The truck driven by Camron Roberts, 18, of Marshfield crossed the centerline on Route 192 and hit a Cherryfield Foods Inc. truck at about 2:15 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Department said.

Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene. The blueberry truck’s driver, Shawn Sprague, 44, of Addison, was taken to Down East Community Hospital with minor injuries, sheriffs said.

Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to cut a 16-year-old from the pickup truck. A LifeFlight helicopter flew him to Eastern Maine Medical Center of Bangor, where he was in stable condition, sheriffs said.

An off-duty sheriff’s deputy was the first to discover the crash and call 911, sheriffs said.
