The University of Maine on Monday unveiled its women’s soccer schedule for the upcoming season, and it includes eight home games.

The home slate also features a matchup with Massachusetts at Thornton Academy in Saco.

All other home matches will be played on Mahaney Diamond in Orono.

Coach Scott Atherley’s club kicks off the non-conference portion of its schedule with a match against Long Island-Brooklyn on Aug. 20.

An Aug. 25 road match against Brown University follows before UMaine returns home on Aug. 27 to face Northeastern.

The Black Bears and Huskies will meet up the following weekend in Boston before UMaine hosts UMass in Saco on Sept. 3.

UMaine returns to Orono on Sept. 7 and Sept. 10 for matchups against Bryant University and Marist College, with the final non-conference match coming at Cornell on Sept. 16.

The Bears start America East play on Sept. 24 when they host Stony Brook, followed by a Sept. 28 road game at Hartford.

A home match on Oct. 1 against Maryland-Baltimore County is followed by road affairs at New Hampshire (Oct. 5), Vermont (Oct. 8) and reigning conference champion Albany (Oct. 15).

UMaine concludes its regular season with home matches against Binghamton (Oct. 19) and UMass Lowell (Oct. 22).

The Bears are looking to rebound from a 7-9 overall record last fall (3-5 in America East) in which they fell in the opening round of the conference tournament to UNH.

UMaine’s incoming freshman class includes Camden native Charlotte Messer, who led Camden Hills to a Class A state championship last fall.
